They were married 18 years before they bought their first car. They were married for 42 years until his passing in 1975. Agnes became head seamstress at Good Samaritan Hospital for close to 20 years.
She moved to Southern California to live with her daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Vern in 1980. During her many years of raising children she always enjoyed cooking, sewing, and baking. She loved preparing Lutefisk every Christmas Eve which is a traditional Norwegian meal made with white-fish. During her later years she enjoyed sitting and watching sports on TV, especially baseball, and specifically the LA Angels. Agnes always enjoyed visits from family and friends who came to southern California. For several years she would come north to Portland to visit her daughters. She enjoyed taking drives to the Oregon beaches, Oregon mountains, and eating Chinese.
