Alan Rolfe Reichenbach

May 6, 1950 — January 31, 2016

Alan Rolfe Reichenbach, 65 was born in Bossier City, Louisiana. He is survived by the love of his life Cheryl. He is the beloved father of Jim Reichenbach and Diana (Reichenbach) Ulatowski, and grandfather to Nathaniel, Andrew, Randy, Katrina and Natasha. Alan is also survived by brothers, Roger, Lefty and Robin. He was preceded in death by his parents Myna and Boyd, affectionately known to all as Mom and Pop, his sister Barbara and his brother Ron. Alan proudly served as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years before retiring. His time in the Navy saw him stationed in California, Washington and finally Virginia. After he retired from the Navy he settled in Portland, Oregon. He went to culinary school and eventually worked as a chef at the renowned Heathman Hotel in downtown Portland. Alan’s last career move was to get back into the medical field as a surgery scheduler at the VA Hospital. Alan retired from that position in May of 2015. Alan had a passion for experimental cooking, cooking shows on television, the Washington Redskins and most of all the New York Yankees. He enjoyed quiet time with Cheryl in their southeast Portland home, as well as hosting birthday parties for his kids and grandchildren, and holiday events filled with funny stories, anecdotes and constant laughter. Alan will be dearly missed by all that were fortunate enough to know him. Service Information
