Betty E. Sessler

January 7, 1931 — September 24, 2015

Betty was born in Ontario, OR and was the only daughter of Charlie & Florence Pierce. She had three brothers, now all deceased, Robert (Bob) Pierce, William (Bill) Pierce, and Gary Pierce. She is survived by her adoring husband Ronald (Bud) Sessler, her loving children, Kenneth Sessler of Troutdale, OR, Daniel Sessler, of Bellingham, WA, Shelley Allar, of Portland, OR Timothy Sessler of Battleground, WA. Also, four grandchildren, Jessica Aleso, of Erie, PA, Kenny Sessler, Heather Sessler and Katie Sessler of Portland, OR, and one great grandchild Daniel Alesso. Betty attended Burns Union High School, in Burns, OR. She worked nights as a telephone operator while she attended school, to help her parents and three younger brothers. She graduated BUHS in 1949. After high school, she worked in a few retail establishments in Burns, where she became well known and liked by many in the community. Betty met the love of her life, Ronald (Bud) Sessler, and they married July 4, 1954. Betty & Bud lived in Burns, OR until 1967, when they moved to Portland, OR. Betty was a stay at home Mom, until her children were in school fulltime. She returned to the working world, and worked for many years in auto parts, accounting in the logging equipment industry, and retired as a parts manager for a construction small equipment distributor. Most of all, Betty was a wonderful wife and mother to her family. She was a mother of four, but a "mom" to countless others over the years. She was one of the most loving, giving, and gentle women this earth has ever known, and words cannot express how much she will be missed. Service Information
