Brice Durfee Marquand passed away peacefully at home May 4, 2016 due to congestive heart failure and COPD. He was born May 27, 1929 to Orville Marquand and Mildred (Durfee) Marquand in Sun City, KS and grew up on a fruit orchard in Hotchkiss, CO. Brice married the love of his life, Eleanor Mae Ingram, October 24, 1949 after a 24-day whirlwind romance. Together they settled in Portland in 1951 and raised two sons, Richard and Ronald. He treasured his time with his sons, hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and traveling.
Brice worked most of his life as a diesel mechanic, finally retiring for the third time, at the age of 80 from Tarr LLC. For nearly 30 years he co-owned the Eastside Terminal Truck Repair business in NE Portland. He was a past member of the Clackamas Co. Sheriffs Reserve. He was also a lifetime member of the Tualatin Valley Elks Club.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mae, sons Rich (Claudia) and Ron (Sheryl), four grandsons and one great-grandson. Brice was a delightful, kind and a patient man who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
