Charles Allen Love

Born 1924 in South Dakota, Charles moved with his parents to Salem, Oregon during the Depression. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. During this time he met a girl in Madison, Wisconsin. She gave him a fake name as she was not too sure about the soldier. Her real name was Lovedy Wolf. So, when they married she became Lovedy Love. The date of this memorial service is the 68th annivesary of thier wedding. Lovedy preceded Charles in death 4 years age in July. Chuck worked at OPS/Blue Shield in the Salem branch office, and then transferred to the headquarters office in Portland in 1957. He worked his way up to Claims Mananger and then Controller. When Blue Shield and Blue Cross combined, he oversaw the investments of the business. Charles was a long time member of the business association in Oregon known as the FEI, and even served on the board of the Phoenix, AZ association after his retirement. He retired after 35 years with the insurance company. Charles and Lovedy loved to dance and were charter members of the Barn Owls for both square dancing and round dancing. They continued to pursue dancing in Arizona until Lovedy was unable to continue dancing. Chuck was a devoted care giver for Lovedy for a number of years. When Lovedy went into hospice care they came back to Oregon to live with thier daughter Christine. Lovedy passed away in less than a week, and Chuck remained at Christine's. Chris had assumed the role has his care giver. Immedicate family includes: Michael, his son and his wife, Joanne, they have two living children, Brenda and Ben; daughter Angela is deceased. Brenda has 4 children, Moriah, Natalie, Isaac and Amelia. Ben has no children. Christine his daughter, has two children, Amy and Troy. Troy and Shevaun have 3 children, Daphne, Aurora, and Vincent. Amy and Chad have no children. Included are Chris' companion, Scott and foster son Steven. Service Information
