Curtis Michael Phelps

Curtis Michael Phelps, 43, of Clackamas, OR passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. He was born in Provo, UT on May 31, 1973 to Ann and Craig Phelps, and was raised in the Milwaukie, OR area. A graduate of Oregon City High School, Curt excelled in academics, athletics, and leadership. He was an accomplished soccer player and the senior class president. Accepted to several schools, including the US Air Force Academy, Curt opted to attend Northwestern University, earning bachelor’s degrees in math and economics, and an MBA from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. Curt spent two years serving the people of Mendoza, Argentina as a missionary. He worked as a law and economics consultant in Chicago before serving as a corporate finance director in the mining and drilling industry. A proud Eagle Scout, and an avid outdoorsman, Curt enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, and running. He also enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Curt is survived by his parents, Craig and Ann Phelps, as well as his siblings, Andrea (51), Christian (50), Boyd (44), Naomi (41), David (39), and Justin (36). He always found time to laugh and play with his 19 nieces and nephews who loved and adored him. His smile and bright eyes were his hallmark greeting, lighting every room he entered. He was a kind and generous man who embodied the definition of what it means to be a friend and a brother. Visitation will be held at the LDS Chapel at 13520 SE Ruscliff Rd, Portland, OR 97222 on Friday August 5th at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 10:00am. Service Information
