David Edward Heeb

March 21, 1935 — September 12, 2013

David Edward Heeb March 21, 1935 - September 12, 2013 David was born in Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Los Angeles, California to Veralee and Edward Heeb. He grew up in Temple City, California surrounded by his loving parents, grandparents, sister, uncles, aunts and plenty of cousins. In college he met his future wife Marolyn Behrens and they were married in July of 1955. In the summer of 1958 he graduated from La Sierra College with a bachelor's degree in business administration. His first job out of college was being an accountant for the Anaheim Memorial Hospital. In a short time he rose to the position of administrator at a young age. The majority of his career was in the health care field in hospitals and nursing homes. In 1979 the family moved to Oregon and purchased a small nursing home in SE Portland. He became very involved in the Oregon Health Care Association, lobbying the legislature for the funds needed to care for the elderly. At the same time he was running the day to day operation of several nursing homes along with his wife Marolyn. The time for retirement came. Not one to sit home, he worked for a software company as a salesman for LifeStory, ultimately becoming the manager for this small company. Then another opportunity came to be. He got to work with his son Brent, at his business Stars Antiques Malls. His family was the most important part of his life. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joanne and his sister-in-law, Phyllis. He is survived by his loving wife Marolyn, son Brent, sister and brother-in-law Ann and Phil Lilley, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carolyn and Ernest Sabo, Aunt Beth, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was a kind, caring man to his family and friends. David died peacefully at home with time to say good-bye to his family. He fought a short valiant fight against cancer. Ace will be missed by us all. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Wounded Warrior Project and the USO. Service Information
