Dewanna J. Bauer

Dewanna Jean Bauer, age 65, passed away on September 9, 2015 in Portland, Oregon. Dee leaves this world having gifted it with two children, Cindy and Joe Bauer. They were the greatest loves of her life, along with her son-in-law, Jesse Bohrer-Clancy, granddaughters, Autumn and Violet, and departed husband, Jack Bauer. Dee is remembered for her frequent generosity, sparkling green eyes, delicious appetizers, and ability to light up a room with laughter. She had a funny “country saying” to put nearly any situation into perspective. As an accountant for over 25 years, Dee was whip-smart with numbers and was appreciated for her insights and ideas. She was also an award winning seamstress. Her final months were spent at Rivervilla Care Home under the impeccable care of Ilona Bogya. Her room overlooked the Willamette River and she was fed healthy, organic meals. She bonded with her care team and would chat with them for hours about social, personal and political issues. Dee was loved for her gift of gab. If Dee could put a message into one million fortune cookies, she would encourage humanity to speak up about what’s important to them. She was a great listener who was open to hearing and speaking the truth. She will be missed and her legacy will remain in our hearts forever. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
