Dorothy G. Davis

Dorothy G. Davis, age 79, passed away comfortably and peacefully at her home Tuesday evening, October 27, 2015 in Portland Oregon surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born October 23, 1936 in Kintyre, North Dakota to Fred and Doris Nikkila. The family, including her younger sister Betty, moved to Astoria, Oregon. She met and married Robert Duncan and then moved to Portland, Oregon. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading her books, and watching the kids grow up in her neighborhood. Her family loved making pickles and waited for their Christmas package of fudge and cookies. Her girls will continue with the tradition of making pickles from the family recipe. She is survived by her children David, Darlene, Diane, Debbie, and Mike. Also survived by her Grandchildren; Stephanie, Matt, Amanda, Josh, Andy, Jeni, Jeremy, Alyssa, Zack, Ben and Sarah; and 6 Great Grandchildren. As she requested, the immediate family had a small gathering at her home to celebrate her life. They will spread her ashes at a later time at the beach.
