Mrs. Mitchell was born December 30, 1926, in Annis, ID to Lawrence and Annie (Hall) Merrill. She was born to a large family of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Rigby, ID on a small farm; her young life was full of love and hard work making soap, canning, baking, and doing laundry a long side her siblings. Her father was a dairymen and mother was a midwife/ homemaker. After her father’s death in 1932 the family moved to Boise, ID where Ethol met her first husband a young soldier, John King. The two were married in 1944 and had a son Michael Warren Cassel and shortly after a daughter, Sandra Solberg was born. She moved to Portland, OR in 1961 where she met the love of her life Robert D. Mitchell, the two were married on October 28, 1967. They were an unstoppable force together earning their pilots licenses, traveled the world, and owning/managing a successful apartment complex and small business. Her personal interest included cooking, gardening, sewing, reading, and gaming. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, Robert D. Mitchell; her son, Michael and his wife, Patricia; daughter Sandra and her husband Keith; Robert’s children Susan and her husband Dan; Sandra and her husband Kirk; a daughter in her heart, Betty Trueblood-Waldo and her husband Howie; grandchildren Michelle, Lisa, Tara, Mac, Joe, Andrew, Leah & Trista; great grandchildren, Whitney, Ryan, Justen, Nicholas, Amanda, Emily, Louie & Mallory; great great grandchild, Aubrey; and Roberts siblings Betty & Bill.
