Forrest Lawton Forbes 96 (November 3, 1919-August 15, 2016 was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Forrest Franklin and Lydia Louise Forbes. He was the eldest of four siblings, Lois (deceased), Robert and Shirley. He was proud to have been raised on a farm in Iowa where his work ethic was established. He served in the Army Construction Brigade in Italy and France from 1943-1945. He married Eva (Sally) Luellen McCord in 1946 and they had three children; Terry Forbes Tanner (Grant), Karen Fitzpatrick (Alan) and Doug (Pam). The family grew up in the Westmoreland/Sellwood community where Forrest was involved in coaching Little League, the Sellwood Methodist Church, Meals On Wheels and Moreland Community Poloce. Forrest had a successful career in the commercial construction field as a partner in C.M. Emeis Company. His wife Sally died in 2007 after 61 years of marriage . Forrest and Sally had 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Forrest will be remembered for; valuing the importance of family, recognizing the benefit of strong work ethic, the benefits to honesty and integrity and the willingness to support others.
