Frances Ellen Martin

Frances was born to Thomas J.& Margaret (Boyle) Cunningham on June 21, 1925 in New Castle, PA. She grew up there with her eleven siblings. She worked with her dad at his flower shop Cunningham & Weingartners. Frances graduated from NE-CA High School in June 1943. She met Robert John Martin and married on November 23, 1946. They moved many times for Robert's job and their children were born in Pennsylvania & West Virginia. Robert had an accident in 1976 which resulted in brain damage. Frances raised the children and took care of him too. She even moved the family to California from West Virginia for Robert's health. He died in 1990 in Hayward, CA. She moved to Newport, OR later where she lived for almost 26 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters- Catherine, Jane, Ruth, Helen & Sheila, brothers- Tom, Bob & Steve. Frances is survived by her children: Mary Martin (Al Baldridge), Maggie Collins, Chris Martin (Sue Goodwin) Sheila Hagan (Dan), Tom Martin (Diane), Carol Martin (Richard Medina Calderon) & Paul Martin. Brother- JP Cunningham (Linda) & sisters-Honora Murphy (Charles) and Lois Brosky. Grand Children- Mollie, Rebecca & Jon Baldridge, Nick & Erin Martin, Renee Hagan Goin, Blake & Jordan Hagan, Ellen Wenzel, Thomas Martin, Dana Ligatich, Malia Brehm, & Jacob Pulido. Great Grand Children- Fiona & Owen O'Donnell, Mary Jane & Carter Baldridge, Taylor Barnes, Dylan & Luke Ligatich, Steffon & Hayley Trice, Joseph, Haden, Elianna & Zoe Pulido. Since 2010, Frances and family have been dealing with Alzheimer's which lead to her death. In January she was moved to the Portland area for care. The funeral will be at her son's church in Gresham.
