Gary Steven Braaten

Gary Steven Braaten January 9th, 1964 - April 21st,2018 Gary Braaten, 54, of Portland, Oregon passed away April 21st, 2018. Gary always had an adventurous spirit, he loved the outdoors and his passion was rock climbing, even reaching the summit of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, twice! We all recall treasured memories when Gary's power, intelligence and loving ways flashed before us like lasers, piercing the darkness of the travail of living life in a fallen world. In those precious moments we beheld the true Gary, created as he was in the image of the Almighty God. We will drink deeply of those sweet memories of his greatness for they will vanquish the darkness in our hearts and impress us with the brilliance of his soul. Gary is predeceased by his loving mother, Louise Amundson. We pray that they are both now wrapped in God's unimaginable Glory.. Gary is survived by his two beloved sons, Dylan and Cole, father Wayne Braaten (Kay), brother Kurt (Katrina), sister Karen Anderson (Bart), and sister Nancy Eisenbise (Kirk). Gary was especially close to his brother Kurt, they loved each other through thick and thin. Theirs was a shining example of true brotherly love. Gary also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
