Gordon Arthur Nyberg

Gordon Arthur Nyberg of Salem Oregon passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 21st 2016 at the age of 86. After a recent illness it was his prayer to be in heaven by Christmas and that prayer was answered. Gordon was born to parent Otto and Ellen Nyberg on February 26, 1930 in Toledo Washington. He was raised in Salem Oregon and attended North Salem High School. Gordon Married Betty Irene Lee on September 11, 1950 and the couple had five children. They raised their family in Salem and spent over 63 years there before moving to Palm Springs and most recently to Portland Oregon. Gordon was a Superintendent for CA Lantz Construction and took great pride in the many schools, government buildings and other commercial construction projects he oversaw construction of during his career. Gordon is survived by his wife Betty, sister Beverly Sigman (Tacoma WA) half-brother Dennis Larson (Dallas OR); sons Steven (Atlanta GA) David (London England), Michael (Bend OR); daughters Susan Barbour (Milwaukie OR) and Paty Thomas (Palm Springs CA) as well as fifteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday January 28th at 11am at Immanuel Lutheran, Sellwood OR. The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations. Service Information
