Ida Amelia Meyers

Ida Amelia Meyers was born March 2nd, 1915 in Taft (Lincoln City), Oregon to parents Jacob W. Liswig and Ida Sofia Liswig (Tokoi). Ida was the 6th of 7 children, all of whom grew up as pioneers on the small farm owned by their parents on the Oregon coast. Ida relocated to Portland as a young adult to attend vocational school where she met and married Harold E. Meyers. She is survived by two sons, Stanley Meyers of Corvallis, Oregon, and Ronald Meyers of Huntington Beach, California and her granddaughter, Beth Meyers. Ida loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed rooting for the OSU Beavers and the Trailblazers, and traveling, including several trips to Finland, her family’s ancestral homeland. She was always a good-natured, caring person. On January 9, 2015 Ida passed away peacefully in her sleep, just 52 days before her 100th birthday. She will be missed greatly. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Wilhlem's Portland Memorial Chapel, 6705 SE 14th Avenue, Portland, Oregon.
