Ione "La Rue" Thomas

Ione La Rue Thomas October 2, 1913-August 18, 2013 Ione was born in South Dakota to Guy and Blanche La Rue. The La Rue family moved to the Spokane, Washington area when Ione was a young child. In 1932 she met Arvon (Bud) Thomas, and they were married July 16, 1934, living in the Portland area all their lives. They had one daughter, Charlene Thomas Larkin, born in 1936. Ione is survived by her daughter, Charlene; three grandchildren-Scott, Brian and Julie Horgen; seven great-grandchildren-Jeffery, Ashley, Breanna, Brandon Larkin and Joshua, Sarah and Jacob Horgen, all living in the Portland, Oregon area. Her husband Arvon passed away in July 2004. At her request there will be no services. Ione will be well remembered for her artistic talent, expressed in her numerous paintings, as well as her love of music, playing the organ and keyboard.
