Jerome Hoffart April 22, 1935 – Jan. 14, 2017 Jerome Hoffart, born in Rugby, ND, passed away at home in Portland, Oregon at the age of 81. He graduated from Rugby High School and Wahpeton ND State School of Science. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1962. In his young adult life he worked alongside his father, Joseph Hoffart, as a carpenter constructing many homes and commercial buildings in Rugby, ND. After moving to Portland in 1967 he continued to work in the construction trade as a self-employed carpenter. Jerome is survived by his longtime companion, Carol Kirklin, sisters, Joanne Hoffart, Linda Rea, Carole Romfo, brothers, Herbert, Larry, and Patrick and sister-in-law, Joyce Meier. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Hoffart and mother, Elizabeth Hoffart, and brother, Robert Hoffart. Viewing will be held at Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 10:00am - 4:00pm. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan.24, 2017 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
