Juanita Mae Moffitt

Juanita M. Moffitt, 85 passed away March 24, 2013. She was born in St. Helens, Oregon to parents George and Irma Baseel. After graduating from Washington High School, she worked for a utility company and recalled riding on their float during a Rose Festival parade. She married Donald V. Moffitt on July 2, 1948. They were married for 52 years. After staying home to raise her children, Juanita went to work for U.S. Bank of Oregon where she spent 10 years. She greatly enjoyed her career and retired with the title of Trust Officer. After retirement she spent many years as a volunteer for the Portland Center for the Performing Arts. She also liked to travel and had an adventure in China in 1994 with her dear friend, Joanne Recken. Juanita is survived by three children; Catherine Holmes (Jack), Christopher Moffitt (Cheryl) and Kevin Moffitt (Kim), three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life has been planned in her honor. It will be held Saturday, April 13, from 1:30 - 3:30 at the Sellwood SMILE Station, 8210 SE 13th Ave. 97202. Please bring your photos and memories to share. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to a memorial tribute fund set up in her name at the Humane Society of Oregon.
