L. VIRGINIA (WHITE) EWING

Born Lola V. Mosely in Portland Or.. She passed away at
St. Vincent Hospital after a brief illness.
Virginia attended Ockley Green grade school, Jefferson
High school, and graduated from Linfeild Collage.
Virginia enjoyed a life long love of music and education.
She played the piano, and was a member of the Vermont Hills United
Methodist Church choir, and volunteered at Hayhurst grade school
tutoring students in reading.
Virginia worked for the phone co. during WWll and handled high
priority long distance calls from the west coast to Washington D.C. After
the war she worked as a medical asst. and taught grade school,
and later worked for U.S. Bank Corp.
An avid outdoor buff she love camping and cruising, and was a
member of a walking group and attended fitness classes until shortly
before her passing.
Because of her outgoing personality, she made life long friends
wherever she went and was truly loved. If a person's wealth can be
judged by the number of friends they have, Virginia left us a very wealthy
lady. She will be missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
She is survived by her son and daughter, four grand children,
three great grand children and two great great grand children.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday June 8, 2013 at
Vermont Hill United Methodist Church, 6053 S.W. 55th Dr. Portland.
