Larry Leroy Cassidy

April 13, 1935 — November 15, 2014

Larry L. Cassidy April 13, 1935 - November 15, 2014 Born in Sheridan, Oregon, Larry was a long-time resident of Oregon City. In 1954 he married his high-school sweetheart. The couple raised four children. To support his family he worked at Ross Island, as a roofer, eventually owning his own roofing company. In 1971 they purchased Stan’s Sport Shop, where they worked together until they retired. An avid outdoorsman all of his life, Larry loved to hunt everything from small birds to moose, caribou and big-horned sheep. He also enjoyed fishing, a passion that led the couple to purchase a home beside the river for their retirement. Here he helped the Fish and Game raise salmon and steelhead each year to ensure their survival. Larry is survived by his wife of 60 years, their four children, four grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 22 at 11am at Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 6705 S.E. 14th Avenue, Portland. In lieu of flowers please donate to a scholarship fund in his name at Multnomah Anglers & Hunters Club. Make checks payable to MAHC and mail to Robin Miller, 7658 N Walbash, Portland, OR 97217.
