LeAnn Elizabeth Kephart
May 30th 1949 – February 19th 2015
Daughter of Kenneth and Gladys, LeAnn was born on May 30th, 1949. LeAnn grew up in Portland, OR. She graduated from Parkrose High School in Portland in 1967. In 1970 she followed her heart to El Paso, Texas. She married William Kephart shortly after in Colorado. They were happily married for 44 years. LeAnn lived in many places throughout her life including Texas, Colorado, Germany, Kentucky and Washington while Bill was in the Army. She was a great mother and homemaker while her children were young. LeAnn continued to care for all of the family children and dearly loved each of them. Her dedicated service as a military wife was rewarded upon her husband’s retirement. LeAnn and her family returned to Portland Oregon and settled in Parkrose. Later, she volunteered and worked for many years as a teacher’s assistant at Parkrose High School where her caring nature helped many children thrive. LeAnn loved the Oregon Ducks, spending time at the river, and her family. Gathering friends and family for summer barbeques, holiday festivities and birthdays was where she found true happiness. If you asked her family, they’d all agree she always out did herself. LeAnn is survived by her spouse William, children Michael, Dawn, and Christopher, sisters Georgi, Susan, Gretchen and Heidi and grandchildren Emelie and Quintin. A memorial service will be held at Living Water Community Church, 2901 NE 65th Ave Vancouver, WA 98661 at 1:00pm on March 28th 2015. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance at
ovariancancer.org.
