Margaret Louise Wilhelm

Margaret Louise Culbertson was born in Fort Benton, MT on September 16, 1915, to John S. Culbertson and Leonora de la Roche Patterson Culbertson. She died on October 6, 2015, 20 days after her 100th birthday. Her family was with her at her memory care facility in Clackamas, Oregon. Margaret’s family moved to Oregon when she was 11 years old. She was a long time resident of the Eastmoreland neighborhood. Margaret attended Woodstock Grade School and was the oldest living alumni at their 100th school celebration. She then went on to graduate from Franklin High School. Margaret married Wilfred C. Wilhelm on August 12, 1938, at All Saint’s Episcopal Church. Mr. Wilhelm died in 2009. They had 3 children— W. Clay Wilhelm (Pat); Barbara Menard (Frank); Janice McCall (Scott). Margaret is survived also by her grandchildren, and great grandchildren : Tom Wilhelm (Tina), Kay Wilson (Kurt), Katie Anderson (Jared), Joe McCall (Cheri); Christopher Wilson, Connor Wilson, Maryn Anderson; also are 6 step- grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren, and 6 step great great grandchildren. She also survived 3 brothers Dr. John S., George D, James F, and 1 sister Lydia. Margaret was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Wife. She was very involved in All Saint’s Episcopal Church during her life. Margaret was a member of the DAR-Oregon Trail Chapter; a Life Member of O.E.S. Waverly Chapter and Sellwood Chapter. Special Thanks to her care giver Ruthie Johnson and the staff at Miramont Pointe and to Seasons Hospice Care. A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial Funeral Home on S.E. 14th and Bybee Blvd. Interment will be held at River View Cemetery.
