Marie Andrea Martien

February 4, 1925 — November 28, 2013

Marie Andrea Martien Feb. 4, 1925 - Nov. 28, 2013 Marie was born in San Timotao Canyon, Cal. During the war she moved to Washington D.C. to work at the Pentagon. Later she would move to Portland, Oregon where she would meet the love of her life. Marie and Richard married in 1965, and joined forces raising her 3 young teens from a previous marriage. Together with her husband they enjoyed serving the Catholic church, Knight's of Columbus and the Elks club. She loved to cook, camp, garden, sing, play games and babysit her great grandchild well into her eighties. Marie was always available to help her family and friends. If someone was moving, she'd be at the door with bucket and supplies in hand. She was famous for her tortillas and beans, which she brought whatever the occasion. Marie was in the kitchen making this wonderful offering for the Thanksgiving meal when she suddenly entered eternity. We are so thankful that she was able to live life to it's fullest right to the end of her days. She is survived by her four children, Julianna Kincaid, Christine Weaver, Vickie Gatley and Bill Martien, and her three stepdaughters Suzanne Ward, Judie Nelson, and Candy Belt, her sister Christine Dalgleish and nephew Larry Colvin. In all, She has 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren with the third due in January. Service Information
