Marjorie Marie Peterson

September 14, 1925 — March 15, 2016

Marjorie Marie Peterson. Sept. 14, 1925 - Mar. 15, 2016. She was born Marjorie Marie Mullin in Portland Oregon. She passed away at a skilled nursing facility with her life long companion faithfully with her. She graduated from Washington High School and attended Oregon State University. She met her husband to be, Lyle, at a service club while he was in the navy. They became engaged Valentines Day 1946 and married Sept. 21 of the same year. She worked part time at Mutual of New York for several years until they became parents in 1953. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, family and many friends dearly. Marge took pride in keeping an immaculate home. She enjoyed PTA involvement, being a room mother, cooking, golf, bowling, bunco, reading, gardening, weekend water skiing adventures and camping. It was not unusual to see Marge and Lyle in front of the TV watching sports events together. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Lyle Peterson, daughter Debbie Landreth, son Carl Peterson, grandchildren Jessica Hoffert, Nicole Fassiotto, Lisa Peterson, daughter in law Lisa Berry-Peterson, nieces Julie and Sally, nephews Paul and Tom, grandsons in law Josh and Brandon. It’s easily said that Marge enjoyed her 90 years in Portland, living a truly full life of which most would hope to achieve. She is loved and will be missed. She was laid to rest on her father’s birthday, St. Patrick’s Day at Wilhelm Portland Memorial. If you wish, donations can be made to the Oregon Humane Society. Service Information
