Mark N. Becker, of Damascus, passed away Dec. 21, 2014, at age 46.
Mark was truly one of a kind and he will be missed immeasurably. His kindness to others was beyond unusual, it was extraordinary. Those who knew him were lifted by his generous, open and playful spirit. He had a strong faith in God and was incredibly unselfish and inclusive of others, especially his Aunt Vera and Uncle Joe. Born in Portland and raised in Milwaukie, Mark attended LaSalle High School and graduated from University of Oregon. He earned his CFP and worked in the financial services industry. He treasured spending time with his wife, Erica and extended family and friends. In his youth, he excelled at basketball and soccer.
Later in life, he relished cooking, golf, music, visiting wine country, volunteer work and travel; favorites included Cabo San Lucas, Sunriver and Europe. To say he was a passionate fan of the Oregon Ducks would be an understatement. Mark was always good-natured, fun-loving and young-at-heart. He was a devoted and loving husband, reliable and thoughtful son, brother, uncle and nephew, and he was a loyal, steadfast and trustworthy friend.
He is survived by his wife, Erica Siverson Becker; siblings, James Becker and Teresa Curdy; and twin sister, Mary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Millard Becker. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at St. Agatha's Catholic Church.
Mark was buried on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, in St. James Cemetery, McMinnville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be sent to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Portland.
