Marvin Glenn Kuykendall

A Funeral Service will be held for Marvin G. Kuykendall on Saturday June 20, 2015 at 1:00pm. It will be held at Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial Funeral Chapel. A gathering will follow at the Reception Hall. Marvin was born in Yamhill Oregon on September 27, 1924 to Alladyne and Marvin Kuykendall. He was the oldest of three children which included Carl and Katheryn. He grew up in the Yamhill area and graduated from Yamhill High School. It was there that he met the love of his life Ethel Paola. They were married for 59 years prior to her passing in 2007. They truly were inseparable and we are comforted thinking of them together again. After graduating, Marvin entered the service and was trained as a meteorologist. After his discharge from the service he worked for the next 40 years for the Federal Government in that capacity until his retirement in 1984. Dad had many hobbies, among them reading, traveling, but he especially loved to garden. He grew fruits, vegetables and he loved flowers. He enjoyed sharing all of his crops with others. Marvin is survived by his children Michele, Rachele and Kevin and is Pre-deceased by special daughters Barbara and Shirley. He had many special grandchildren and great grandchildren who meant the world to him. There are many things that he could be remembered for, but most of all he was a loving husband, father, and family man. We are thankful for the 90+ years we had with him. We will all really miss his guidance and support. The family wants to thank everyone for their assistance especially during his last days. Service Information
