Mary Elizabeth Dalrymple

Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Coron Dalrymple was born in Clarion, Iowa on November 27, 1946 to Mary Lee Coron and Ransom Allen. She and her older brother, Tom, and sister, Kathy were raised by their mother and grandparents in Eagle Grove, Iowa and later in Richfield, Minnesota. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1965 and later undertook two years study at the University of Minnesota. She met Harry Michael Dalrymple in Milwaukie Wisconsin in 1967, married and had her first child, Kirsten, in 1968. Betsy and Harry’s second child, son Richard, was born in 1972. Harry’s work brought the family to Oregon in the mid 70s. They raised their children in Gresham, encouraging them to participate in sports and school, and taking them often to the mountains and ocean to learn about and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. After raising her children, Betsy learned the travel business with Harry and continued to work in travel for many years. In 2008, Betsy became a loving grandmother to twins Isabel and Andrea. She was a caring and accepting person with a witty sense of humor that drew to her many close friends, both young and old. She loved rock-n-roll music, reading, steak and potatoes, the ocean and woods, her friends and family. The last years of her life presented her with many health challenges, which she faced bravely with few complaints. She left us far too early, and we shall miss her as long as we live.
