Mary Ellen Guimary

Mary Ellen Guimary passed peacefully from life surrounded by family on Friday in Milwaukie, OR. She was born in Shelbyville, Illinois to Donald and Helen Hull. She attended Cottage Grove and Grant High Schools. Mary Ellen was an Alpha Phi at Oregon State until family illness forced her return to Portland where she graduated from Portland State, majoring in Education. After teaching several years she retired temporarily, but when the daughters finished schooling, she switched to banking and retired from the Trust Department of Wells Fargo. In 1959 she married Ramon (Ray) Guimary and they lived many years in Eastmoreland where she was very active in PTA, Symphony Auxiliary and neighborhood activities. A talented seamstress she was a founding member of "Loving Hands", a ladies group , and "Handmakers Faire" . After family, her favorite love was cats, followed by flower gardening. She is survived by husband Ray and daughters Jeani Durkheimer of Portland, and Jeni Williams of Los Angeles and four Grandchildren. A private burial service will be held.
