Michael William Hanifin

Michael Hanifin passed away in his home on May 13th, 2013, of Cancer. The son of William and Theresa Dolores Hanifin, and brother to Jack and Judy, Michael was born in Scranton, PA on November 27th, 1956. He moved to Portland about 17 years ago, where he met his beloved wife Voni while folk dancing. He had a passion for cooking, good food, music, and hats, and he loved his beautiful home that he and his wife remodeled together. He had a sharp wit, sharp style, and a big heart. Michael was an OR nurse in urology at Kaiser Sunnybrook for about 11 years. His work was very important to him. His co-workers respected him for his dedication, humor, and room turn announcements. Michael touched the lives of many. He will be missed and remembered by friends and family. He’s survived by his wife Voni, his sister Judy, and Jack the cat.
