Ollie Belle Culp, daughter of John and Ollie Jenkins of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, was born on September 4, 1920. She was the oldest of four children, with her brothers Bud and Rich, and sister Vi. She grew up in Kansas City Missouri, then, during the depression she came west with her family, settling initially in Oregon City.
Ollie was the proud mother of three children: Valerie, Ella and Milo. Valerie and Ella preceded her in death. She was a hard worker who invested 35 years of her life in Good Samaritan Hospital, where she worked on the housekeeping staff and loved her friends and co-workers. She also enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and the daily “jumble,” her favorite shows “The Price is Right” and “Lets Make a Deal,” shopping and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a bright and easy-going woman who lived to make the lives of others better. She was always ready to help anyone who had a need, while maintaining a very strong inner character. She looked for the good in everyone, and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and care for others.
Ollie Belle is survived by her son Milo, her two grandchildren Brian and Cheryl, and her 3 great-grandchildren Billy, Brittany and Brianna.
A Memorial service for Ollie Belle will be held at Wilhelm's Portland Memorial at 6705 SE 14th Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97202, on Thursday, October 10th at 3:00 PM.
