Paul E. Langdon, Jr. November 9, 1935 - October 24, 2014 Paul E. Langdon, Jr. was born on November 9, 1931 in Evanston, Illinois to Paul E. Langdon and Phyllis Langdon. He graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois in 1949. Paul received his Bachelors of Science Degree and Master's Degree from the California Institute of Technology in 1952 and 1953. On October 16, 1955 Paul married Carol Porter of Kingman, Arizona. For three years he worked for the Public Health Service, now known as the EPA. This job took him all over the southeast doing studies on water pollution. In 1957, Paul joined the engineering firm of Greeley and Hansen in Chicago. He became a partner in 1971. Much of his work was in Panama, New York, Michigan, Florida, Georgia and South Dakota. This involved planning and supervising construction of water treatment plants. Paul retired in 1997 and he and Carol moved to the Portland, Oregon area to be closer to their daughter and her family. His hobby was chip carving which is a type of carving done with only one small knife. He made many beautiful things. He had a great love of the happy music Ragtime. He and Carol attended many Dixieland festivals. Paul is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol; daughter, Dr. Theresa Langdon and her husband Dr. George Bengtson, and grandchildren Lucas, Lillian, Louis and Frances Bengtson. Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portland. A Private burial will be in Kingman, Arizona. Donations can be made to the Caltech Alumni Fund of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA and/or Holy Family Catholic Church in Portland, Oregon. Service Information
