Paulette Yvonne Bishop

Paulette Yvonne Bishop April 7, 1953 – March 17, 2016 Paulette Yvonne Bishop was born in Portland, Oregon on April 7, 1953, where she lived with her family – Mr. and Mrs. Frederick H. Bishop. She was the oldest four (4) children – Marlynn, Michael, and Mark. Paulette passed away March 17, 2016, at Forest Grove Rehabilitation and Care Center, in Forest Grove, Oregon, after a courageous three (3) month battle with cerebral bleeding and subsequent CVA’s. She was supported by family and friends. Paulette graduated from Portland Union Academy in 1971. She attended Pacific Union College and graduated Suma Cum Laude in 1975. She earned a B.A. in sociology. She married Gerald Williams on August 20, 1974 and divorced after approximately 2 years. She moved to Loma Linda, CA in 1976 where she found employment at Loma Linda University Medical Center in the Radiology File Room and was quickly promoted to Head Supervisor. She worked there for approximate 26 years – during this time she continued her graduate studies in her major, sociology. Although very successful in her profession, she terminated her employment in 2002 and returned to Portland to assist her family in caring for her mother, Mrs. Justine Bishop, until her death in July, 2014. After her mother passed away in 2014, Paulette continued to support family members. And it was at a medical appointment for a family member that she suffered a cranial bleed on January 13, 2016. She was immediately rushed to the E.R. at Willamette Falls Hospital after which she suffered repeated CVA’s. She finally succumbed to her illness on March 17, 2016. Paulette was devoted to her family and enriched many lives through her unfailing love and gentle, understanding support. She will be deeply loved and missed by all who had the great fortune to know her. Paulette wished to be cremated and her ashes to go to the family members she loved. Memorial services will be held at Pleasant Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church, 11125 S.E. 172nd Ave., Happy Valley, Oregon 97086, Pastor George Gainer, presiding. Service Information
