Philip H. Walter, 93, passed away, November 5, 2012. He was born October 4, 1919 in Dayton, Oregon and graduated from Milwaukie HS in 1935. In June, 1942, Philip married Mildred Smith, who died November 1968. He served in the US Army during WWII. Philip had many skills; he worked at Otto's Sausage Kitchen, Stagecraft Industries, and Walter Specialty. In October 1997, Philip married Jean Anderson; together they enjoyed fishing, hunting, clamming, gardening, and traveling. Besides his wife, he is survived by son, Michael (Kathy); five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, William Walter; sisters, Mary Ramsey and Kathryn Welzbacker; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Dayton; brother, Richard Walter; sisters, Elsbeth Mayfield and Shirley Iverson. A memorial service is planned, Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Clackamas United Church of Christ, 15303 S.E. Webster Rd., Milwaukie. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or to the Hopkins Memorial Tree Farm, P.O. Box 1200, Oregon City, Oregon 97045.
