Phyllis (Phyl) Stefani passed on January 24, 2015, in Portland, Oregon after a paralyzing stroke. She was born on April 7, 1922 by her parents Franklin and Ella Becker, and was the youngest of six children. Although Phyl didn't finish eighth grade she continuously worked all her life and became a bank teller manager and accountant. She was married to Fred Stefani for 25 years. In July 2006, after Fred’s passing, Phyl moved to the Hazelwood Retirement facility where she met Norman Yap. They were partner’s in life until his passing in August 2014. Phyl was survived by her grandson Joe Killaby and his wife Lesley Killaby, and her daughter Diane Killaby. Phyl will be dearly missed by everyone who had the chance to know her. At Phyl’s request there will not be a funeral or memorial held. Instead, you can visit after she is placed to rest on February 3, 2015 at Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial Funeral Home and Mausoleum at 6705 SE 14th Ave, Portland, OR 97202. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Smile Train (PO Box 96231, Washington DC 20090-6231) at www.smiletrain.org or call 1-800-932-9541 would be greatly appreciated as it was Phyl’s favorite charity.
