Richard Lee Pesznecker was born December 20, 1931 to Leo & Caroline Pesznecker. Dick grew up in SE Portland and had a younger brother Don. He was involved in Boy Scouts during his Elementary and High School years.
He met his sweetheart Mary Lou Mallatt in the 8th grade and they were married July 21, 1951. They continued to live in the same neighborhood on Ogden Street across from Dick’s childhood home for the next 55 years.
On December 4, 1955 Jeri was born, she was their only child until November 7, 1960 when Dan was born. Not long after that, Gary joined the family and suddenly they had a 12 year old son, a baby boy and a jealous 6 year old girl. The family enjoyed many camping trips and endless summers at their cabin on Eagle Creek.
He has 6 grandchildren: Linsea, Nate, Seth, Kara, Patience (Deceased) & Leo. And 6 great-grandchildren: Jake, Lucy, John, Levi, Olive & Emrys.
Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, shooting guns, & gunsmithing. He was famous for his cookie baking and made regular deliveries to PBI. He also enjoyed playing with his grandchildren & great-grandchildren. And was always seen wearing funny & unique T-shirts.
