Ruth Elizabeth Truman

Ruth was born on April 16, 1921 in Meridan Connecticut to Frank and Nellie Augur. When she was 3 years old her parents packed up the car with their 6 children and drove and camped their way from Connecticut to Oregon. Ruth graduated from Jefferson High School in 1939, She enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in October 1943 and served until February 1946. She married Stanley Truman June 25, 1946. A son, Laurence was born May 1947, followed by twins, Kathleen and Glen April 1951. Ruth was very active in her lifetime with Cub Scouts, Brownie's, Girl Scouts, PTA, regularly attending church, and many sewing projects. Stan and Ruth moved into Rose Villa Senior Retirement Community in 1983. Ruth was a very active, friendly member of the community and participated in many activities, even starting up a couple of groups, until her health made her slow down. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Truman, brothers Robert Augur, Clarence Augur, sisters Barbara Smith, and Hazel Ladd. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Patterson, sons Larry Truman, Glen Truman, daughter Katie Clark, daughters in law Laurie Truman, Florence Truman, Son in law Bob Clark, and 4 grand children, 11 great grand children, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She will be missed by all, as well as the staff of Rose Villa. Service Information
