Wayne Kenneth Green

GREEN, Wayne K 87 July 11, 1932, Vergennes, Vermont ~ January 9, 2020, Oregon City, Oregon Wayne K Green passed away peacefully in his home in Oregon City, OR with his family at his side on January 9, 2020. Wayne K Green was born in Vergennes, Vermont to parents Carl Rutherford and Alice Lillian (Hall) Green on July 11, 1932. He was brother to Carl, Laurence, Peter, Richard, and William. Wayne left high school for the Navy in 1950. Wayne met Helen Green at a barn dance in Litchfield, Connecticut. The two were married in Litchfield in 1952. They were blessed with five children: sons Charles, Ronald, Michael, Wayne Jr., and Troy. The family moved from Vermont to Oregon in 1972. Wayne’s primary occupation was in the engineering/hospital maintenance field and he retired as an employee of Kaiser Hospitals. He enjoyed hunting deer and he was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. Wayne was an American Legion member. Wayne will be remembered as an independent man who made his own choices. He valued close family ties and he cherished the partnership that he held with his wife Helen. Wayne is predeceased by his parents Carl and Alice Green and his son Charles. He is survived by his loving wife Helen; sons Ronald, Michael, Wayne Jr., and Troy; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A Graveside Ceremony with Naval Military Honors will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020, 11AM, at Willamette National Cemetery of Happy Valley, Oregon.
