William Leon Hefflin

William L Hefflin, 79, of Portland, OR passed away on February 16, 2015, surrounded by loved ones at Providence Portland Medical Center. Bill is survived by his loving wife of nearly 57 years Kathy (Skou), son David Hefflin, son Mark (Julie) Hefflin, daughter Kristin (Bob) Knepp and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Patrick and Liam. He is also survived by his brother Tom (Peggy) Hefflin and his sister Judy Brown. Bill enjoyed a rich, 27-year career and retired an officer from the Coast Guard in 1983. He then spent over ten years managing a travel agency alongside his wife where together they were able travel and explore the world. Some of his most memorable destinations included France, Great Britain, Italy, Egypt, Israel and New Zealand, however his favorite trip was a ride on the Canby Ferry. Bill was also an active member of the board of directors for Twin Rocks Friends Camp for 17 years. A memorial service will be held at Lynwood Friends Church, 835 Southeast 162nd Avenue, Portland, on March 7th at 11am.
