William T. (Bill) Watson November 17th, 1945 - January 3rd, 2017 William T. (Bill) Watson was born in Portland, OR on November 17th, 1945 to Thomas and Virginia Watson. He grew up in the Sellwood neighborhood and went to Llewelyn grade school. He played Babe Ruth baseball through out his youth and continued playing at Cleveland High School. He graduated in 1963, he then joined the National Guard. Bill also studied advertising at the University of Oregon for 2 years. He then married Diane Lorenzini in 1968 and had two daughters, Kylie and Jeni. At this time Bill started his life long career at Union Pacific Railroad. He was an engineer for most of those 36 yrs. eventually becoming a train master, but retired as an engineer in 2005. Since then, Bill has been active with railroad community functions, Cleveland High School alumni, pursued his love of golf and watching college football, especially his favorite team the Ducks. One of his greatest passions was becoming a grandfather. He never missed a choir performance, school function and could always be found on the sidelines of one his grandsons sporting events. He was a big hearted loving father, devoted grandfather and generous friend. Bill could find humor in any situation and had the most contagious laugh you've ever heard. Always greeted people with a warm smile and never seemed to meet a stranger. Bill lived life to the fullest and his absence will leave a huge hole in the lives of his family and countless friends. He is survived by his daughters Kylie Watson and Jeni Burns of Clackamas, brother Todd Watson of Portland, cousins Penny and Philip Burkart of Portland, son in law Darroch Burns of Clackamas and grandchildren Collin Hoppert, Jake Storment and Audrey and Wyatt Burns. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00-6:00pm on January 21st, 2017 at the Milwaukie Elks Lodge. 13121 SE McLoughlin Blvd. Oak Grove, OR 97222 In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a charitable contribution to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in William Watson's name.
